Naan bread is mainly served in restaurants as a side with curries or as an appetizer. Making it from home is absolutely possible and it is easy to make too. Its simple, delicious and very satisfying for the whole family.

  1. Take a large bowl, combine water, sugar, and yeast mix well. After a few minutes, add in oil, yogurt, egg, and salt. Knead as you add flour gradually until its soft.
  2. In a greased bowl, with butter or oil, place the dough in, cover and let it rise. Let it settle for about 20mins.
  3. Thereafter, take out your dough. It should feel soft. Cut into 8 separate pieces. On a clean surface, powder with flour. Roll each piece to about, medium circle and a bit thick.
  4. On medium heat, get oil on a non-stick pan. Cook one piece of your dough and cook till its golden brown and bubbly. Cook each side for 3 minutes.
  5. Do this for all the pieces and make sure not to burn them.
  6. Place then on a plate. You can smear butter over as you brush. We definitely want to have a tasty bread to take even as a snack. Garnish with parsley for desired taste.
  7. Naan bread can be taken with curries, soups, stews or spread like hummus.
