''Happiness is like jam. You can't spread even a little without getting some on yourself".

Today I have a quick and simple recipe for you, this one is for all you jam lovers out there or anyone with a sweet tooth. You've come to the right place.

My favourite jam is the St. Dalfour Rhapsodie de Fruit, Black Cherry which has no added sugars its 100% from fruit. They have many other different flavours. You can buy them at any Carrefour or Healthy 4U store.

Ingredients

Kitchen Wares

Directions

  1. Using a sharp knife or bread knife cut all four sides of the bread slices. The edges are harder, especially for brown bread. I would recommend using white bread it is easier to flatten with the rolling pin.
  2. Use the rolling pin to make both sides of the bread thin and flat then evenly apply the jam. You can use any jam that you have at home, even honey will do the trick.
  3. Tightly roll the bread and seal the end using some milk. An alternative to do it is to dip the bread rolls in eggs, before shallow frying them.
  4. Put some oil on a pan or use a grill toaster to cook them. I like using this grill toaster because of the grill lines.
  5. Apply butter evenly on the rolls, this will give them a nice golden brown colour and make them crunchy. Close the toaster for 5 to 8 minutes. If you're using a pan keep carefully turning them for 8 minutes on medium heat.
  6. You can have jam toast rolls in the morning for breakfast, as a fun snack for kids, with your favourite gourmet soup or ice cream. You can garnish with icing sugar or any syrup of your liking.
