This crispy onion rings can be taken alongside anything, with ketchup, hot sauce, or your home-made sweet chilli sauce.

Ingredients

Kitchen Wares

Directions

  1. Divide your rings into large and medium sizes and set aside.
  2. To make the butter, add the flour into a bowl, if using the all-purpose flour, you can add 1/4 cup baking powder, add in the cayenne pepper powder, regular pepper, salt then whisk them together. Add in water or milk preferably to your liking, little by little to make a smooth batter/paste.
  3. Drop the onion rings one at a time, making sure to cover it all up then to a bowl with breadcrumbs and shake it until fully covered. Do this for all the rings and set aside. You can freeze your rings for up to 1hour to 1hour 30 minutes to make them compact.
  4. Place a saucepan on the heat and add your oil, heat for about 20 minutes or until 177°C. Get your frozen onions and fry them in batches until golden brown for about 2 minutes.
  5. Take them out on to a wired rack or paper towels to drain the excess oil. Sprinkle salt and serve.☆
